The mission of the SeaDoc Society is to ensure the health of marine wildlife and their ecosystems through science and education. The program scope encompasses the health of all marine vertebrates, and the biotic and abiotic environments upon which they depend for survival. The program focuses on the North American Pacific, with emphasis at present given to issues facing the inland marine waters of Washington state and British Columbia (Puget Sound / Northwest Straits / Georgia Basin).

How to apply for funding for research
The SeaDoc Society provides objective science on issues concerning wildlife and ecosystem health in an effort to inform and guide effective policy and management. The SeaDoc Society has provided funding on an annual basis since 2001 for critical marine wildlife and ecosystem health-related research. The results of these projects are already helping to improve the health of marine wildlife and their ecosystem. A date has not yet been set for the next request for proposals.

Awards have been made for the 2006 Request for Proposals in the area of Marine Wildlife & Ecosystem Health.
